The majority of the earliest Muslims to arrive in Glasgow from India and Pakistan were living in the Gorbals. The area had previously attracted economic migrants from Ireland and then later, Jewish immigrants, with many Italians arriving in-between.
The Muslims steadily outgrew their places of prayer, from Oxford Street through Carlton Place.
Masjid-e-Khazra is one of the prestigious mosque in Glasgow. New extension of the mosque is under construction and requires brothers and sisters to contribute generously.
The new extension would extend the facility to accommodate more brothers, sisters and children to offer prayers and education activities for better understanding of our moral and religious values, duties and obligations.
